Does it really go in the water?

YES! It does go on the water (not under)

Do we get wet?

Only if it is raining!

Should we wear any special clothing for the tour?

No. Dress for the weather. Do not bring your own life jacket as we must insist that you wear one of ours.

Is the tour safe?

Yes. Our vehicles are old and heavy but they were designed for more demanding and strenuous trials than what we put them through at Viking Splash Tours! They are regularly serviced and we have a full complement of garage staff that keeps the vehicles up to top performance standards.

Where can I get on the tour?

Our regular departure point is St Stephens Green north, just opposite the junction of Dawson Street. We have a group's departure point on Bull Alley Street next to St Patrick's Cathedral also. Regular tours do not run from Bull Alley Street! Only pre-booked group bookings can depart from this location.

What happens if I am late for my tour?

You will be charged the full price of your tickets with no refund. We do ask customers to be at our departure point 15 minutes prior to departure. Please see our terms & conditions.

Are there toilets on board/at the departure points?

No - unfortunately we cannot provide toilet facilities at our departure point nor on our vehicles.

Can I bring a buggy/pram?

Yes - so long as the buggy or pram is collapsible it can be folded up and put behind the back seats on board.

Can I eat/drink/smoke on board?

No. No. No.

How long is the tour?

One hour and fifteen minutes is what we aim for - this will vary depending on city traffic.

How long is the water section of the tour?

We spend approximately 15-20 minutes in the Grand Canal Docks.

Can I get off the tour and get back on...?
Can I be dropped off at...?

No. The Viking Splash Tours is 75 minutes in duration with no stops on the route.

Unless you have booked with a group and organized an alternative drop-off point, your tour will start and finish from Stephens Green. Tickets are non-transferable.

Are tours wheelchair accessible?

We do carry wheelchair users on the Viking Splash Tour but these passengers must be seated on a bus seat. The wheelchair can be stored at the rear of the vehicle.

How often do the tours run?

Approximately every half an hour from Stephens Green during high season. Please call us on 01 707 6000 to check availability or to book your place on board.

How can a vehicle work on land and water?

Come on board and find out!
The vehicles we use are called "Dukws". They were built during world war II as amphibious trucks to carry soldiers and equipment to aid the war effort.

Is there an age restriction on the tour?

Children under-3 are not permitted on the water section of our tour for safety reasons. An adult will be expected to disembark with the child at the water section of the tour and we will pick them up again when we come out of the water.

Do I have to book?

Booking is not essential but it is strongly advised as seats are limited and we are, after all, one of Dublin's most famous and best loved tours.
